ABOUT FLEXIO
BUSINESS CHALLENGE
Before Flexio, the delivery industry in Puerto Rico was plagued by unpredictable ETAs, missed deliveries, and inefficient routes. These issues led to customer frustration, increased delivery costs, and reduced client satisfaction.

The biggest challenge in running Flexio is building systems that empower our drivers to deliver not just excellent service, but genuine empathy in every customer interaction.

CEO
Flexio
To give his drivers and customers the best delivery technology possible, Flexio's CEO, Adrian Figuero, partnered with Afi Labs to build a fully customized end-to-end delivery management system. This system is built around three main components:
1. A Customer Portal for clients.
2. A Route Optimization Dashboard for operations staff.
3. Driver Apps for Flexio’s drivers and delivery partners.
CUSTOMER PORTAL
Flexio’s clients primarily use the Customer Portal to manage deliveries. The portal provides HIPAA-compliant, secure access to delivery logs, audit trails, and photo proof of delivery. Clients can schedule and place deliveries directly - no calls or emails needed. Everything is self-service and searchable, allowing users to track orders by status, delivery date, or recipient name.
A core feature of the Customer Portal is the ability to create not only standard pickup and delivery orders, but also orders with a single pickup and multiple drop-offs, or multiple pickups and a single drop-off. This versatility enables Flexio to serve a diverse range of clients outside of healthcare such as FMCG brands, retailers, and e-commerce businesses.

ROUTE OPTIMIZATION DASHBOARD
Once orders are confirmed, they are passed on to the Route Optimization Dashboard where a proprietary routing algorithm considers their pickup and delivery locations, time windows (e.g. "deliver between 2 - 4 PM"), priority as well as the capacity and availability of nearby vehicles to generate the most efficient route for each driver. These routes minimize overall drive time, distance, and the number of vehicles needed
The Route Optimization Dashboard displays each driver’s route on a live map, including stops, estimated arrival times, real-time locations, and local traffic conditions. If a vehicle encounters an issue or deliveries need to be reassigned, operations staff can simply drag and drop orders between drivers.
The dashboard also supports capacity planning by allowing users to run simulations - such as adding a new hub or handling a 50% increase in delivery volume. These 'what-if' scenarios are powered by real-world data, helping teams make informed decisions.

DRIVER APP
Once routes are finalized, they are dispatched to the Driver App (available on iOS and Android) where drivers can view their assigned stops and navigate to each one efficiently.
Customers receive automated text notifications when the driver is approaching, giving them time to prepare for delivery. If a customer isn’t available or prefers contactless delivery, the driver can simply take a photo as proof of safe delivery. This builds trust and protects the integrity of the products being delivered.

WHAT’S NEXT FOR FLEXIO
Our mission has always been to optimize the last-mile delivery process, leading the way toward faster and simpler services,” Adrian explained.
To expand its impact, Flexio is integrating AI and process automation, including automated integration for the software-as-a-service (SaaS) solution, enabling unprecedented scaling. These strategic steps are already paying off, as providers such as FedEx are leveraging Flexio's solutions, as well as launching strategic partnerships in the United States, one of the world's largest markets for deliveries.
These moves reflect Flexio’s commitment to building the next generation of healthcare logistics infrastructure at scale.
